Friday, February 10:  Tour of Growing Power Greenhouses, 10am

5500 W Silver Spring Dr, Milwaukee

The tour will last 1 ½ hours and is $10 per person.  This is the greenhouse and project that is run by Will Allen, the urban grower.  If you wish to order a senior basket of food,  it will contain various fruits and veggies and cost $9.  Must be ordered by Wednesday, noon, for pick up on Friday. Call  414-527-1546 to order.  These greenhouses are known as Milwaukee’s oldest farm.  After the tour, we will head down Silver Spring to Port Washington Rd, for lunch at Kopps.

Friday, March 2 - Sunday, March 4:  Annual Winter Get Away

Skyline Hotel & Suites, 1970 Wisconsin Dells Parkway, Wisconsin Dells, 53965

Join us for our annual getaway in the Wisconsin Dells.  Activities to be announced.  When making a room reservation, ask for the GWRRA Gold Wing Chapter G rooms in the 200 block.  Room rates are $54 each for Wednesday and Thursday nights, and $79 each for Friday and Saturday nights with 2 queen beds, or $89 each for Friday night and Saturday nights for mini-suite or king rooms.  the hotel agreed to waive the amenity tax.  We'll have a taco bar on Friday night, and chili on Saturday night, followed by a pajama party.  An "enhanced" continental waffle breakfast is included.  One night deposit is requested when making a reservation.

Friday, Sept 14 - Sunday Sept 16: Annual Weekend Fall Fling

The Konkapot Lodge, just outside of Bowler, WI, is owned by a Native American family that built the place themselves 13 years ago. As you can read on their website, the place is a log structure with 28 rooms; 15 on the 2nd floor and 13 on the 1st floor. There is a free continental breakfast in the morning. A few steps across a parking lot and into a wooded area is a space with grills, picnic tables, and a fire pit tailor made for Diana "The Empress of the Embers" Gorecki to work her magic. Wood and LP gas is supplied by the hotel.  The parking lot is asphalt so there's no gravel to worry about when parking the bikes. The entire 2nd floor has been blocked for our stay. There is a large sitting room on the 2nd floor right above the lobby consisting of 3 tables suitable for card playing and various furniture for relaxing in. The thought is that if we fill the entire floor there would be no reason for other guests to be up there. The lodge does not have an elevator, so if you prefer the ground floor, you will have to let them know when making your reservation. Just remember you will still have to climb stairs to join the rest of the group. The Deluxe Suites have two queen beds and the Luxury Suites have a king bed and a two-person whirlpool. The Luxury Suites also have a small refrigerator and microwave. The regular prices are $90 for a Deluxe Suite and $135 for a Luxury Suite. Our group rate will be $10 less than advertised prices. Also included are casino vouchers good at three nearby casinos.
